The Board of Trustees (BOT) of Tangaza University College have appointed Rev Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari to become the new CEO of Tangaza University College, succeeding Rev Dr. Steven Payne, OCD. His position commenced on July 1, 2017 and will carry the title, “Vice-Chancellor Designate” until Tangaza receives its university charter.
Fr. Mbugua is a priest of the Nakuru Diocese with a doctorate in educational psychology from Egerton University. He has numerous scholarly publications as well as wide knowledge and experience of the Kenyan tertiary educational system. At Egerton University, he has served as the Dean of Students, the Director of University Welfare Services, as well as the Chair of the Department of Psychology, Counseling, and Educational Foundations. In addition, he has served as a resource person for the Commission for University Education.
In his message to Tangaza Community, Fr. Gary A. Mueller, C.M., the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) announced that the Board was very happy to welcome Fr. Stephen Mbugua Ngari to the Tangaza Community and promised him prayers, friendship, and full support as he takes on the challenging task of Vice Chancellor (Designate). Fr. Gary went on to register hearty thanks to Rev Dr. Steven Payne, the outgoing principal, for his many years of dedicated service to Tangaza and promised him prayers and best wishes.
Rev Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari on his part thanked the BOT. and Governing Council (GC) for the wonderful opportunity they accorded him to serve the great family of Tangaza. He further expressed his gratitude to Rev Dr. Steve Payne for the enlightening orientation he took him through and promised him prayers and best wishes in his future endeavors. He went on to congratulate Fr. Steven for the milestones achieved during his tenure.
