MOU between Tangaza and Makueni county

On 28 August, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, the Governor of Makueni County (GMC) and Br. Tom Kearney, Principal of Tangaza University College (TUC), signed a Memorandum of understanding between the two bodies to collaborate in projects and programmes directed to the social development and Transformation of the peoples of Makueni County.  The programmes seek to bring about social transformation by focusing on human dignity, social justice, advocacy, research and development, social enterprises development, providing the learners with the methodology, competences, and operational tools for facilitating them, while striving to accompany and mentor agents of social transformation in the field.

TUC will offer its competencies and programs in the following areas:

Business and entrepreneurship training, Civic and Development Education Training, Community capacity building for sustainable development, Servant Leadership and Transformation Managerial Training, and Research on various areas of social concerns as identified.

GMC will identify and initiate areas of concern for its development and will fundraise and budget to achieve the full implementation of the agreed programmes.  It will participate, provide access to the community and ensure technical support for the projects.

Jointly the two parties will set up an implementation team and jointly monitor the progress. 

It is an exciting step forward for TUC and GMC to work together in the pursuit of Social Transformation for the people of this area of the Republic of Kenya.
