She has over 12 years of high school and university teaching. Having worked in Kenyatta University, Tangaza University College and Marist international university college she has taught courses in literature, communication, life skills and academic writing.

She has a MA in literature and PhD in literature from the University of Nairobi in 2016. Her doctoral work examined the theme of human rights in selected Kenyan post-independence texts. She is passionate about research in literature and human rights and believes society can be humanized through its literature.
