TANGAZA, MACHAKOS & SAN DIEGO UNIVERSITIES CHARACTER EDUCATION COLLABORATION PROJECT
Tangaza University in an effort envisioned at realizing its core mission of social transformation has taken up a partnership with Machakos University & San Diego University (U.S.A) on a project dubbed Character Education. The initiative is inline with the Ministry of Education recommendation for partnerships between private and public Universities.The collaboration is set to see the three institutions develop and implement a project with the key aim of imparting on the youth within the country skills and knowledge on character development.
Now in its final stages, the project as currently structured has both a research & intervention component. The three partnering institutions have been able to hold a number of consultative meetings over Skype and three physical meetings .As a follow up too previous meetings, the partnering institutions were able to meet in Machakos University Hotel and Conference Center(Le Technish Restaurant) on Friday 15th December 2017 where the Memorandum of Understanding was finalized and now awaits signing from the Vice chancellors from the two universities. Two collaborative projects on the program are also currently being developed.
The delegation from Tangaza comprised of Deputy Vice Chancellor Designate Prof. Sahaya Selvam, Dean Arts and Social Sciences Dr.Beatrice Churu, Director Institute of Social Ministry Br.Jonas and Director Research and Post-graduate Studies Dr.Daniel Kitonga. Machakos University was represented by the Dean of Education Prof. James Muola and acting Research Director Dr.Wycliffe Amuokwain.
