The programme aims at offering basic knowledge and skills to become child and youth workers enabling them to deal effectively with the issues of welfare, development, entrepreneurship, and advocacy offering a practical component in working with children and youth through an internship.

a) Specialization of Child and Youth Welfare and Development:

Child and Youth Welfare and Development specialization helps develop professionals capable of orienting and accompanying children and youth in the process of developing their potentialities and placing them at the service of their own cultural, social, economic, and political enhancement.


b) Specialization of Child and Youth Rights and Advocacy:

The specialization in Child and Youth Rights and Advocacy seeks to form a professional capable of making children and youth play a central and proactive role in promoting human rights that can benefit everyone in society through advocacy.

Upon completion of the programme students:
-Have basic knowledge and skills to become child and youth workers
-Deal effectively with the issues of welfare, development, entrepreneurship, and advocacy in working with children.

Requirements

  • KCSE mean grade of C Plain or with a Certificate in any field
