This theme sets the tone for the 2025–2026 Academic Year at Tangaza University. It reminds us that authentic education is not only about equipping students with knowledge and skills, but also about forming character, deepening faith, and embracing digital opportunities responsibly.
Orientation of New Students
The new academic year began on Monday, 11th August 2025, with the orientation of incoming students. New learners were introduced to Tangaza’s academic, social, and spiritual life, and warmly welcomed into a community committed to Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts, and Transforming Lives.Opening of the Academic Year
The day began with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Kamomoe. In his homily, the Bishop encouraged the Tangaza family to face the new year with faith, resilience, and hope, reminding the community that every challenge, including the heavy rains that marked the day, can be embraced as a blessing and an opportunity for growth. The lectio brevis was delivered by Rev. Dr. Marcel Uwineza, SJ, of Hekima University, who offered a profound reflection on the year’s theme. He cautioned against education without morality, noting: “Education without heart, without faith, can become a deadly weapon.” Dr. Uwineza called on Tangaza to embrace transformation as more than academic success, urging the community to move “from information to formation, from talent to character, from careers to vocation.” He challenged the University to be a mustard seed: small but deeply rooted in faith and significance.Vice-Chancellor’s Address
The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Patrick Mwania, warmly welcomed students, staff, and dignitaries to the inauguration of the academic year. He highlighted Tangaza University’s growth and renewed commitment to its motto: Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts, Transforming Lives.
