From April 14 to 18, 2025, the chaplaincy organized a pilgrimage to Namugongo Shrine, involving students and staff from Tangaza University. The journey was guided by Rev. Fr. Peter Chikere and was well-received by all participants.
A pilgrimage is a sacred journey to encounter God personally. It can be found throughout Scripture, with examples ranging from Abraham’s journey to the Promised Land to Mary and Joseph’s trip to Jerusalem.
Reasons to Go on a Catholic Pilgrimage:
- Deepen Your Relationship with God
Pilgrimages create opportunities for trust, prayer, and reflection, helping you grow closer to God and engage in sacramental experiences.
- Experience Fellowship
Pilgrimages foster a sense of community among fellow believers, reminding you that you are not alone in your faith.
- Seek Healing
Many undertake pilgrimages seeking physical, emotional, or spiritual healing at sacred sites, encountering God’s presence.
- Embrace Sacrifice
Pilgrimages often require sacrifices that can help you detach from worldly distractions and draw nearer to God.
