In 2026, Tangaza University joyfully marks 40 years of existence. Founded in 1986 as a Centre for the formation of missionary priests, Tangaza has grown into a vibrant university serving the Church and society through teaching, research, and mission.
To mark this milestone, March 2026 to March 2027 is declared a Jubilee Year: Tangaza @ 40—a special time of thanksgiving, celebration, remembrance, and renewal, inspired by the Christian tradition of Jubilee.
The theme is: “Tangaza @ 40: A Jubilee of Faith, Mission and Academic Excellence”
The Jubilee Year will include:
· Official Launch: Thursday, 26 March 2026 – University Mass
· University Walk: Saturday, 11 April 2026
· International Academic Conference: November 2026
· Closing Celebrations: March 2027
All students, staff, alumni, partners, benefactors, and friends of Tangaza are warmly invited to participate actively in this historic celebration as we give thanks for the past and renew our commitment to the future.
