Call for Contributions: Human Trafficking in a Changing World Conference

Tangaza University, through the Tangaza Centre for Ethical Leadership and Safeguarding (TCELS), in partnership with Frolics of Hope Africa, is proud to announce an upcoming international conference: “Human Trafficking in a Changing World: Interdisciplinary Pathways for Prevention, Protection, and Human Dignity.”

This landmark event aims to bridge diverse disciplines to create a unified front in safeguarding human dignity against the evolving threats of modern trafficking.

Conference Overview

  • Theme: Bridging Disciplines to Safeguard Human Dignity

  • Dates: 27th – 28th July 2026

  • Venue: Tangaza University, Nairobi, Kenya

Thematic Focus Areas

The conference will explore five critical pillars that define the current landscape of human trafficking:

  1. Education, Awareness, and Prevention Systems

    • Topic: Knowledge, Technology, and Protection.

    • Focusing on Ethical AI, digital safeguarding, and prevention systems for modern threats.

  2. Health, Psychology, and Human Development

    • Topic: Trauma, Vulnerability, and Resilience.

    • Focusing on trauma-informed care, mental health recovery, and survivor rehabilitation.

  3. Economics, Development, and Livelihood Systems

    • Topic: Poverty, Inequality, and Exploitation.

    • Analyzing economic drivers and inclusive empowerment strategies.

  4. Law, Governance, and Ethical Leadership

    • Topic: Justice, Integrity, and Institutional Response.

    • Reviewing legal frameworks, governance gaps, and the role of ethical leadership.

  5. Digital Spaces and Emerging Threats

    • Topic: Trapped Behind the Scam.

    • Addressing cyber-trafficking and digital exploitation.

 

Call for Contributions

We invite academics, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, faith-based institutions, technology experts, and development practitioners to submit their work.

  • Abstracts (300–350 words)

  • Full papers

  • Case studies

  • Policy briefs

Expected Outcomes:

  • Strengthened interdisciplinary research networks.

  • Policy-relevant recommendations and enhanced safeguarding frameworks.
